Golf Digest names Spargo Golf Among 100 Best ClubFitters

Cranston, RI December 29, 2010 -- Tom Spargo, Co-Owner of Spargo Golf, received Top 100 Clubfitter designation from Golf Digest Magazine. The Article will be released in the February issue of Golf Digest, along with Golf Digest's annual Hot List.

Tom Spargo is a member of the Association of Clubfitting Professionals (AGCP) and has been awarded the status of Master of Clubfitting Technology. Tom has been previously recognized as an International Top 10 Clubmaker by the Golf Clubmakers Association, and has been awarded Rhode Island Clubmaker of the Year for the past 6 years.

Golf Digest's process for determining America's 100 Best Clubfitters involved 3 criteria. 1) the location must be open to the public. 2)There must be access to the clubs made by top manufacturers. 3) the fitter must be nominated by one of the following. one of the 900 raters of America's Top 100 Greatest Golf Courses, golf association executives, top teachers or other industry sources. Golf Digest also asked the facilities to complete a survey detailing their resources, expertise, and methodology. A list of more than 500 leading fitters was then evaluated by Golf Digest's judges before they decided on the 100 best.
